TransEagle ST Radial Tires

The TransEagle ST Radial is a highway trailer tire built for heavy-duty towing at sustained speeds. Unlike standard nylon or polyester trailer tires, it features a robust all-steel construction in both the sidewall and tread. This commercial-grade strength allows it to handle heavy loads while minimizing casing deformation. It is rated for trailer service only and is not approved for use on a passenger car, truck, or SUV. Customers buy the ST Radial most often in ST235/80R16, ST235/85R16, ST225/75R15, ST225/90R16 and ST205/90R15.

The symmetric ribbed pattern is the functional core of this tire. It keeps the trailer tracking straight behind the tow vehicle instead of wandering, and the solid shoulder ribs resist irregular wear while stabilizing the casing when the trailer loads up in a corner or gets pushed by a crosswind. Circumferential grooves do double duty, clearing water to cut hydroplaning risk and channeling air through the tread to help the tire shed heat on long hauls. The compound is an all-season formulation, so it stays flexible in cold weather rather than hardening off over winter storage.

If you are comparing trailer tires, the specification that matters more than brand is load range. Trailer tires fail from heat and overload far more often than from tread wear. While the all-steel structure severely reduces deformation and heat buildup, the right approach is still to weigh or estimate your trailer fully loaded, then choose a load range with headroom above that number. From there, inflate to the maximum pressure stamped on the sidewall before you hook up, check pressures cold rather than after driving, and inspect the sidewalls for cracking before each season. A trailer tire that has been sitting in the sun for four years should be replaced even if the tread looks new.

Best-suited for: Utility trailers, boat trailers, travel trailers, toy haulers, and heavy enclosed cargo trailers.

Tire Best Features:

• All-steel construction in sidewalls and tread ensures commercial-grade durability and minimizes heat-generating deformation under load.

• Symmetric ribbed tread provides straight, stable tracking behind the tow vehicle.

• Solid shoulder ribs improve control in crosswinds and resist irregular wear.

• Circumferential grooves aid in both water evacuation and high-speed heat dissipation.

• All-season compound stays flexible through cold storage to prevent premature cracking.

• Multiple load ranges available to match varied trailer weights and payload demands.
