The load index (LI) is a 2- or 3-digit number that correlates to the maximum amount of weight the tire can carry. Almost a perfect match to older Sears tires...

"I put these Deestone D901, 4.8-8 tires on the front of my 68' Sears Suburban 12 garden tractor. The saw-tooth tread pattern is almost a perfect match to the original 50 year old tires. I used tubes in my tires due to the old rims being a bit leaky. At 12psi, the sidewalls are stiff enough not to roll on quick (slow speed) corners while mowing around obstacles. The tires grip very well while snow plowing."

"Tires were tough to get the bead sealed due to tires heavier side wall & being stacked in storage & smooshed down. Had to use a rachet strap around the tire to get the sidewall close to rim & continually tried to seat the bead. Store your tires standing up !"
