Pegasus HTX AS Tires

The Pegasus HTX AS is a highway all-season tire for crossovers, SUVs and light trucks that live on pavement. It is for drivers who want a quiet, even-wearing daily tire for commuting and road trips at a value price. Pegasus is a line launched in the US by American Pacific Industries.

The tread is symmetric, so it rotates to any position and wears evenly. The pattern is designed to cancel tread noise for a quieter cabin. Siping adds biting edges for wet roads and light snow, and the casing is reinforced for stability at highway speed. Its UTQG is 500 A A. A treadwear grade of 500 is a solid number for a highway tire, and A is the top temperature grade. Tread depth on the 215/70R16 is 10/32 inch.

Most sizes are passenger-metric, standard load or XL, and speed ratings run from S to W depending on size. There is also an LT225/75R16 in load range E (10-ply rating) for vans and three-quarter-ton trucks. Matching the construction to the vehicle gives the best balance of ride comfort and load capacity. It is backed by a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty on passenger-metric sizes and 40,000 miles on the LT size.

Best-suited for: Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Equinox, Ford F-150.
